James is a highly skilled acoustics consultant with deep expertise in provision of noise and
vibration design advice plus testing encompassing planning, environmental, architectural and building services acoustics.

James is a member of the UK Institute of Acoustics and Chairman of the UK Institute of Acoustics Building Acoustics Group. He is the principal author of the 2020 ANC ‘Acoustics, Ventilation and Overheating Guide’, which has informed the UK Building Regulation Approved Document O. Principal author of the 2022 ‘Guide to Demonstrating Compliance with the Noise Requirements of Approved Document O’ and contributor to the 2022 Future Homes publication ‘Part O 2021 (England) Technical Guidance’.
